USJ previews Titan experience
Universal Studios Japan has opened a new experience in its Osaka-based theme park that puts roller coaster lovers straight into the world of popular manga and anime Attack on Titan.
The attraction, dubbed Attack on Titan: The Real, previewed before the press last week to good reviews, with many praising the life-sized hyper-realistic statues of the Survey Corps military group within the fictional universe.
A walk-through experience, Attack on Titan attempts to recreate key moments from the highly successful cartoon, with thousands of Japanese fans lining up yesterday to have photographs taken of them being 'eaten' by a Titan.
Other must-do activities include consuming the rations that are eaten by the Survey Corps and getting a photo alongside the experience's centrepiece - a 49-foot tall structure of character Eren Titan fighting a 46-foot high statue of a Titan.
Attack on Titan is set in a fictional dystopian universe in which gigantic people inhabit the planet, devouring humans and destroying all of civilisation. The Survey Corps are the main military outfit fighting off this threat to humanity.
Those wishing to experience the Attack on Titan: The Real will be able to from this Friday, as part of the Universal Cool Japan limited event, which also allows visitors to enter the universes of Monster Hunter, Evangelion and Resident Evil.
Universal Cool Japan will remain open until May 10th, but those visiting USJ after the attraction has closed will find plenty to entertain them at one of Japan's largest and most popular theme parks.
The attraction is home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which transports people directly into the world of the boy-wizard who captured hearts the world over. Popular locations recreated from the books include Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and of course, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
