In Weather In Japan,
Snow falls across Tokyo
Snow has fallen across all 23 wards in Tokyo for the first time this year today (February 4th ), with some of the city's districts getting a depth of up to three centimetres.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the snowfall was anticipated to start tonight and carry on through until Wednesday morning, although a cold air mass from the north has pushed temperatures down further than expected.
The police have issued a warning to both drivers and pedestrians to stay aware and be careful of slippery roads and pavements.
Tokyo saw heavy snow last month as the nation celebrated its Coming of Age day, with many media outlets proclaiming it to be the heaviest fall in seven years. Strong winds also led to flight cancellations and delays at Haneda Airport.
It has been a chilly winter across all of Japan, with Osaka seeing snow in November last year for the first time since 1989.
