JAL provide more Haneda flights
Japan Airlines ( JAL ) has today (January 24th ) confirmed its ambitions to provide more international flights from Tokyo's Haneda airport, with a number of daytime takeoffs scheduled to various destinations including London, Paris, Singapore and Bangkok.
Tokyo is served by two airports - Narita and Haneda - with the former generally being considered the preferred option to fly to thanks to its proximity to the Japanese capital.
Additional flights to Haneda have been expected ever since Tokyo won the right to host the Olympic 2020 Games last year, with air control staff undertaking training so that they can guide more planes in per hour.
The new flights offered by JAL to the transport hub will start running from March 30th. Haneda was initially set up to deal with domestic travel only, but commenced international air traffic in October 2010 following the completion of a new runway and terminal building.
