In Events In Japan,
Tokyo underlines Olympic ambition
The officials responsible for Tokyo's bid to host the Olympic Games in 2020 have promised to pull out all the stops in order to convince the judging panel.
On September 7th, the group will head to Argentina to meet officials from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), who are responsible for deciding who will eventually host the event.
Despite this, bid president Tsunekazu Takeda refused to reveal the ace that he apparently has up his sleeve.
"There is a sense of nervous energy as we close in on a six-year dream," he told brecorder.com.
"We live in challenging and rapidly-changing times and Tokyo's is the best bid to deliver a dynamic Games in this climate."
Tokyo has previously hosted the Games, in 1964, while the city lost out last time to Rio de Janeiro.
Mr Takeda, meanwhile, said that he intends to leave the IOC in no doubt as to Tokyo's desire to host the event.
