Hogwarts opening a school in Japan
Hogwarts, the mystical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter series of books and films, will be opening a new school in Japan.
Universal Studios has confirmed that it is bringing its hugely popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter set to the country in late 2014.
Already hugely popular in Orlando, the theme park will be brought to Osaka as part of a global expansion programme.
Hundreds of fans of the series dressed up in their best Harry Potter costumes to hear Glenn Gumpel, president and chief executive of Universal Studios Japan, make the announcement.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan will aim to authentically bring to life the stories created by JK Rowling in her books.
And the author is among those excited by this latest expansion. She said: "I was delighted to experience and enjoy the attention to detail, creativity and superb craft that went into the first Wizarding World in Orlando.
"I am equally delighted that the same level of expertise and enjoyment will translate to the new park in Japan."
