Japanese popstar Miwa Yoshida weds toyboy
Tabloids in Japan have gone into a frenzy with the announcement that the 46-year-old pop icon Miwa Yoshida and rockstar Juon Kamata, 27, have tied the knot.
Having shot to stardome as the frontwoman of the hugely successful Dreams Come True duo, Yoshida is one of Japan's most famous pop stars and has sold around 50 million albums, AFP reported.
She used her blog to tell her loyal fans that she and the Fuzzy Control lead singer are now married.
"I want to take a step forward while carrying the courage and love I received from my family, friends, Masa-san, and of course, everyone," she wrote.
Yoshida added that both she and her new husband would remain committed to the music that they both love.
Her Dream Comes True band specialises in pop ballads and is hugely popular across East Asia, particularly among females.
She had previously been married to music video director Takeshi Sueda, but he died of cancer in 2007 aged just 33.
