Our team at Inside Japan Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Boulder, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan tours and holidays.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.

InsideJapan tour leader Charlea has lived in Japan for five years, where she has taught English to people from all walks of life – including politicians from the Japanese House of Representatives!
Charlea first came to Japan as an intern during university, when she spent three months living in Okayama Prefecture. Later, she would return to Japan with her husband to spend a year in Osaka (where she claims the alarmingly straightforward locals have kidnapped her heart), before heading to her present home of Tokyo, where she has lived for the past four years.
In addition to her various teaching jobs (which ranged from elementary schools to major corporations like Casio and Mitsubishi), Charlea has worked as a university security officer and as a volunteer at various anime conventions in the US, where she had the opportunity to meet lots of Japanese voice actors and visiting bands.
Originally from New Mexico, Charlea misses Reece's Peanut Butter Cups (who wouldn't?) but finds that Japan more than makes up for the loss with its yakiniku (grilled meat), Hakata ramen (Fukuoka-style noodles) and constant surprises. In her spare time, Charlea has an impressive range of hobbies including baking, drawing, painting, jogging and karaoke - at which her personal best was eight hours straight singing. That's quite a lot.
What would you say to persuade someone to visit Japan?
With Japan you truly do get a full package. Whatever it is you fancy; it's here. Modern cities, fantasy-filled forests, gardens, food in excess of variety and quality, entertainment, history, and amazing people that take more than a moment's glance to figure out. Steeped in ancient culture, modern in dress, graceful and with a regal level of social politeness, Japan is truly the perfect conundrum that will pull you back in over and over.
