Miyajima artisans
Let us introduce you to the craftspeople of Miyajima
InsideJapan can arrange to introduce you to Miyajima's talented locals. Woodcrafts have been practiced on the island for over 150 years - so visit a carpentry workshop for a hands on lesson in carving shakushi rice paddles or warm wooden bowls. We can also arrange collaborative hands-on experiences with island-based potters and the makers of papier-mâché masks, used in Miyajima's festivals.
