Japan 'emerging destination' for thrill-seeking Brits

Japan is becoming a popular place for winter sports fans, it has been noted.

According to Lindsay Colbert, from the Japan Ski Experience, the country is slowly being seen an ideal spot for a skiing holiday.

"British people are starting to learn more about the powder snow and the excellent world class ski resorts that are in Japan and if you combine that with the culture, a lot of people want to go there," she said.

As well as this, Ms Colbert noted that the country is home to more ski resorts than any other nation, which may be of interest to Brits searching for the ideal place for a thrilling winter sports getaway.

Japan in general is a popular place for tourists to visit.

Figures from the Japan National Tourism Organization published recently showed that in September this year, foreign visitor arrivals to the country stood at around 535,800.
