In Events In Japan,
Surfing contest to hit Japan
The Tokyo Governor's Cup Surfing Tournament is set to be held this weekend, which could appeal to water sport enthusiasts currently in Japan on a holiday.
The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Habushirua Beach on Niijima Island and will hopefully include short board, long board and body board heats.
Habushirua Beach, which is 6.5 kilometres in length, is known as one of Japan's best surfing spots and has been used previously for world-class tournaments.
Music fans could also be interested in visiting the surfing festival, as it runs alongside the WAX music event.
As part of WAX there is set to be live music in the beach cafe and lounge.
Niijima Island is a volcanic island which is south of Toyko. It is one of the seven islands that make up the Izu Chain Islands.
The island's highest point is Mount Miyatsuka, which stands at 432 metres.
