Wanted man goes on killing spree

A man in Japan, already wanted by police, has stabbed a number of individuals in the country's Ibaraki Prefecture.

The event, which took place in the city of Tsuchiura on March 23rd, occurred outside of a shopping centre and resulted in the injury of seven individuals, in addition to one death, reports the Japan Times.

Masahiro Kanagawa, the alleged perpetrator, was already wanted in relation to a fatal stabbing earlier in the week.

Mr Kanagawa was described by one of his peers at school as easily angered and without many friends.

"I saw a young man collapsed, with a pool of blood around his head. I can't believe this is happening in such a quiet town," said a witness, a manager of a nearby mobile phone shop.

Another witness added: "Four or five ambulances were here."

Law enforcement officers have confirmed that Mr Kanagawa will face charges of attempted murder and murder.

Ibaraki Prefecture is located in the Kanto region of Japan's main island, Honshu.
