Namie Amuro for Best Ballads album
Japanese pop singer Namie Amuro has announced that she will release her first ever best-of compilation of ballads in just over two months, much to the delight of her fans.
The superstar, who was born on the island of Okinawa, announced the news last week (April 14th), with her record label confirming with a statement.
Amuro said that the album has been in the works for more than three years. "I am so happy to be able to create an album that all of my fans will enjoy, consisting of only their favourite songs," she added.
Earlier this year, the singer's fans were asked to vote for their favourite ballads from a list of 38, which included hits such as 'Can You Celebrate?' and 'Love Story'. Overall, 15 songs and a bonus track will find their way onto the CD.
It has been confirmed that a DVD and Blu-ray disk will be included with the album, which will be released on June 4th.
