In Events In Japan,
Japanese eco-festival being held this weekend
A free, eco-friendly festival kicking off in Japan this weekend (September 21st to 22nd) is proving that it is possible to dress stylishly and help the environment at the same time.
The Tokai Eco Festa, which is being held in Nagakute, Aichi, is centred around the idea of "eco-style", combining fashion with awareness of green issues.
Attendees will be able to walk around more than 130 stalls featuring clothes, handmade goods and art that have been made using natural materials and processes.
Seminars are also being held to teach the public about the safest ways of reusing unwanted items, while there will be recycling centres on-site for people who are looking to dispose of old clothes.
Entertainment is due to be provided on both days of the event and will have an environmental theme, plus more than 30 food and drinks stands are being set up, featuring the best produce from around the region.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to make their own goods at the various green workshops taking place.
