The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Broomfield, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan holidays and tours.

We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.

From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.

Kayuki hails from Sapporo on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido, and is proud to be a Dosanko - a "Hokkaido Horse"!

After leaving her home city of Sapporo, Kayuki moved to Kobe (famous for its delicious beef!) for university, where she studied International Relations with a focus on the LGBT community, gender and globalisation. Following her degree, Kayuki spent six months living in Toronto, Canada, before moving to Denver, Colorado for three years - during which time she worked at the Japanese Consulate.

Kayuki has travelled all over the world in her time, having visited many different US States, Asia, South America, Australia, Scandinavia, and some of western Europe. Her favourite aspects of foreign travel are trying new types of beer and exploring new places by running or cycling around them - though she misses Japanese izakaya foods, convenience store sweets and Japanese baseball when she's not at home!

Now based at our Nagoya office, Kayuki is part of the team responsible for booking tickets and events, making hotel reservations and generally ensuring that every detail of our trips is in place before you travel. Outside of work, her passions are professional wrestling (watching, not competing), drinking beer, crafting and following American football. Go Denver Broncos!

Kayuki also enjoys taking trips on overnight buses and using "not-so-comfortable-nor-convenient" public transport, as she loves the sense of adventure. Her top tips for visitors to Japan are to make sure you bring enough cash, and to make space in your luggage and your stomach!

Where is your favourite place in Japan, and why?

"It has to be Kanazawa. It has a great balance of traditional and modern, because it was never bombed during World War Two - so many historical buildings survived. I also love the mix of mainstream culture and subcultures here.

"If you make it to Kanazawa, I recommend Kenrokuen Gardens, local sento bathhouses, and the trendy stores at shotengai."

Family camping trips in Hokkaido

"I was so lucky to be born in Hokkaido - and these days I always go back for our annual family camping trip. Every location in Hokkaido is different, with unique scenery completely different from that of mainland Japan. I particularly love eating BBQ with Hokkaido vegetables and seafood - delicious!"
