In Japan Entertainment News,
Japanese PM 'could be chart topper'
Japanese prime minster Yukio Hatoyama could be heading for the top of the charts after a single he recorded more than 20 years ago was re-released in the country.
According to information on Sky News from a local news source, copies of Hatoyama's single "Take Heart - Fly, Dove of Peace" has been put on "prominent display" in shops across Japan.
Hatoyama, 62, recorded the song back in 1987. At the time, around 100 copies of the song were made but did not go on public release and were instead handed out to Hatoyama's political supporters as gifts.
On hearing of its re-release he said: "I very much like both the lyrics and melody. But I think I'm a better singer now," Sky News reported.
Hatoyama rose to power in Japan after a landslide victory over the ruling Liberal Democrat party, which has ruled almost continuously since the end of the Second World War.
