Sailor Moon Crystal to resonate original
Emerging details of the latest instalment in the Sailor Moon Crystal anime have revealed the design will take its stylistic cue from the original manga rather than the first film in the series.
A newly released image of the Naoko Takeuchi-created story revealed the change in direction for the immensely popular anime.
The development appears to confirm rumours that the 2014 incarnation is set to be a complete redo of the series, with fans questioning as to whether main character Tuxedo Mask will remain a college student.
Enthusiasts will have to wait until July to have all of their questions answered, however, when the new instalment debuts on streaming site NicoNico Douga.
Abroad, Japan is renowned for its Otaku - or geek - subculture, and those wishing to experience it to the max should visit Tokyo's electric town Akihabara or Kyoto's Manga Museum.
