Zaccheroni 'happy' with Japanese team's win in Oman
Italian manager Alberto Zaccheroni stated that he was happy with the Japanese football team's win over Oman.
Held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Stadium in Muscat on Wednesday afternoon (November 14th), the national team beat Oman two goals to one in a final-round qualifier for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
"Our objective today was to collect three points here, which we did and made our position in the group better. I'm happy about that," said Zaccheroni as reported by the Japanese Football Federation. The boss believed that his team played well considering the hot weather conditions they endured during the match.
He stated that the players could not manoeuvre as well as they usually do and show the strengths of their game because of the steamy climate, however he did acknowledge that the Oman team "came out with strong determination".
Zaccheroni praised his team's hard work and said that they matched the opponents mentally and battled hard for the win.
