Japanese Xperia Arc gets special paint job

The Sony Ericsson's Xperia Arc mobile phone is set to be launched in an exclusive pink colour for the Japanese market.

Japan-based network provider Docomo has confirmed that it will be selling the special "sakura pink" alongside the more traditional misty silver and midnight blue models.

Once described as the "world's slimmest smartphone", the Sony Ericsson phone has a 4.2 inch Reality Display, an 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p HD video capture, 3G and WiFi connectivity as well as up to 32GB of storage and a 1500mAh battery, all contained in its slim 8.7mm casing.

It has not been confirmed if the pink version will eventually be available in other countries.

Docomo also confirmed that the new Optimus Pad L-06C tablet computer, which makes use of the Android 3.0 operating system, will be launched to the Japanese market next month.
