Arsenal planning Japanese pre-season tour
Arsene Wenger is believed to be planning to take his team on a pre-season tour of Japan this summer.
The coach of Arsenal has traditionally opted for low-key warm-up tours but reports suggest that the Premiership team could be travelling to Japan at the start of August to get ready for the new season.
It is expected that a tour of Japan could lead to substantial income for the football club and Wenger may be unable to resist the possible attraction.
Speaking at the Arsenal AGM, the coach said: "I am under pressure from the club to do it. But I want to start the season well. If it's just to make money then no. If for other reasons, then maybe yes.
"We are examining it, but not in a year when the Euros or World Cup years. International players, under FIFA rules, must have four weeks' holiday."
Arsenal are currently second in the Barclays Premiership, four points behind Manchester United.
