1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
The trip was an overall success thanks to the planning, booking, and suggestions from the InsideJapan Tours team! This being my second time traveling to Japan and booking with the company, I was able to experience unique locations and activities from my last trip. I'm thankful for being able to work with such a capable and knowledgeable company -- one that's able to listen to input and craft a tailor-made trip for me! For this trip, I was very satisfied breaking away from some of the more typical locations (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, etc.), especially around the busy cherry blossom season, and experience some of the hidden gems in the Tohoku (northern) region of mainland Japan. Sendai and Toyama were definite standouts plus, the handful of day trips we took to venture out from there. With all the transportation required, it was very helpful for the InsideJapan Tours team to handle most of the logistics for that prior to our arrival. There was little to no stress this trip because of how well things were planned out, even the optional locations and ideas presented by the team. Thank you again!

Mary (and eventually Kassondra) were a great planning out this trip. The initial planning stage with meeting me and being able to condense my many ideas and suggestions into a cohesive trip was especially helpful. I appreciated the expert input into what they recommended, and even the pushback on what they didn't recommend. It was easy to discuss and share ideas and I'm glad I had their support for this trip.

5. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
There was one or two train tickets priced at 4000/5000 yen that were supposed to give us transportation in one of the regions (I think), but they were consumed for an 800 yen trip in the end... This whole trip especially I felt that transportation costs were very high (lots of shinkansen). I'm not sure if there was some package or deal to mitigate some of the fees. We took many day trips, and only on a few of those trips were we aware of purchasing slightly discounted round trip tickets to save a few bucks.

6. Please comment on any professional guiding included in your package?
Food tour with Ed in Tokyo was just ok... Locations picked felt somewhat insignificant and randomly decided on. Conversation seemed limited and not very engaging. The amount of food seemed to be too much for just my wife and I (which was dictated on the given budget for him). But take all this criticism with a grain of salt, as this tour was on our first full day in Japan, and we were still adjusting to the time zone difference and were tired. Food tour with Rumiko (I believe is her name) in Sendai was very good! We expected this to be a larger group tour and not with just us two. (It would have been nice to given notice of this by InsideJapan, along with info about her.) She was very conversational and shared information not only about the food but the city as well! The places she picked to eat at were very novel and delicious! Please let her know that we were very thankful and appreciate her deeply. City tour with Haruko in Nagano was great! Within the short amount of time, she was able to discuss and share quite a bit. She also booked in the spur of the moment a calligraphy activity which was one of my wife's favorite activities. She was very kind and conversational the entire time, and I would love to go back to Nagano to tour with her again! Please give her all the praise you can on our behalf, because there are many experiences that day that I remember so fondly.

Reasons are sprinkled throughout my other responses, but in short: knowledgeable about many locations in Japan and are able to custom tailor trips that are memorable, non-stressful, and connect me with ideas, people, and events that I wouldn't have come up with myself. The amount of prep work made long term and day of planning a breeze. And the customer support while in the country is superb and speedy. Price wise seems very reasonable to book with InsideJapan, although this trip definitely felt pricier than my last trip - albeit some of the reasons are made clear to me (accommodation and transportation)
