1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
Overall, very good. Katherine Barnes was extremely helpful pre-trip, and with a couple of minor exceptions everything was very smooth while we were there. We had great guides in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. Very knowledgeable, amenable to doing what we wanted to do, but also with great suggestions of their own. The mix of a guide on some days, and being on our own to explore on others was a perfect mix. In retrospect, I wish we had spent one more day in Kyoto, and one less day in Hiroshima. The one issue is that I think Inside Japan needs to provide more clarity on the difficulty of some of the walking events. I found the uphill portions (2 kilometers) of the Nakasando Way to be a difficult walk for this 72 year old, as was the climb up to the monkey park in Arashiyama.

She was great. Took the time to answer all my questions clearly, and suggested phone calls rather than email when she thought that would be easier. I would suggest her to any of our friends planning a trip to Japan.

5. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
Overall, very good. We did have some confusion regarding the train to Nakatsugawa from Matsumoto, the Info Pack (page 39) shows the IC logo next to the train information. Since we boarded every train and subway up to that point just by swiping our IC cars entering the departure station and leaving the arrival station, we assumed the same would be true here. Turned out that wasn't at all the case. We ended up having to pay for tickets on the train, in cash. Perhaps we could have used the IC cards to purchase tickets at the station, but nothing in the Info Pack states that we needed to purchase paper tickets, only that we need(ed) to pay on the day. This needs to be made much more clear in your document.

6. Please comment on any professional guiding included in your package?
All were very good. Very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about history and culture that we would have never gotten on our own.

Yes
This was our third trip to Japan, and we've enjoyed them all. But at 72 years old there are still a lot of places I haven't been, so I'm probably more likely to go other places than back to Japan. But if I were to go back, I'd definitely work with IJ again.
