Yokohama Cup Noodle museum
We all love cup noodles! Create your own at Yokohama's newest museum.
Yokohamaites truly love their food. The city boasts a fabulous China Town, a ramen museum and now the Nissin Cup Noodle Museum! A visit here is to discover the history of this humble snack food, first invented by Nissin founder Mokofuku Ando in 1958. As well as film and photo exhibits, the museum includes several hands on activities including a Noodle Factory where you can mix and match soups and flavourings to create your own unique cup noodles.
For younger children, the Cup Noodle Park has a fun playground including a mock production line where kids become the noodles themselves! And there's of course plenty of opportunity to eat cup noodles at the museum restaurant. All in all a kitschy must-see while in Yokohama.
