Begin in Tokyo, where centuries-old shrines sit beneath glittering skyscrapers and neon-lit streets buzz late into the night. Travel north into the Japanese Alps, where the pace slows dramatically. Explore Matsumoto and its striking ‘black crow’ castle before settling into traditional ryokan and countryside retreats, where private onsen baths, seasonal kaiseki dinners, and warm hospitality encourage complete relaxation.
Cross the spectacular Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery that changes beautifully with the seasons, from towering spring snow walls to fiery autumn colours. In Gokayama and Toyama, experience a quieter side of Japan, staying in restored farmhouses, meeting local communities, and discovering traditions that have endured for centuries.
Kyoto brings a return to elegance and romance. Wander historic streets, cycle through hidden backstreets with a private guide, and take part in a traditional wedding kimono photoshoot inside a beautifully preserved townhouse. With ancient temples, atmospheric districts, and refined cuisine, Kyoto offers countless opportunities to slow down and enjoy time together.
Your honeymoon ends with a final evening in Tokyo, the perfect chance for one last unforgettable dinner, cocktail bar, or shopping experience before returning home with memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 1-2
Arrive in Tokyo and settle into the electric atmosphere of Shinjuku, home to the world's busiest station and endless neon-lit streets. The next day, explore the city with your private guide and driver, tailored entirely to your interests.
Discover historic Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple, wander hidden backstreets of old Tokyo, or experience the energy of Shibuya Crossing. You may prefer quieter moments in Hamarikyu Garden or browsing Tokyo's beautifully curated food halls. For a more local experience, we can also arrange your day using Tokyo's famously efficient subway system.
Suggested Accommodation: Park Hyatt

Day 3-4
Your alpine adventure begins as you depart Tokyo for Matsumoto, a historic castle town set beneath the Japanese Alps, before continuing to your alpine ryokan retreat. Over two peaceful evenings, enjoy seasonal cuisine, quiet hospitality, and the comfort of your private onsen bath.
The following day is intentionally unhurried, perhaps a morning soak in the outdoor onsen, followed by locally guided activities that reflect the season, or simply time at rest. Your journey then crosses the spectacular Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, a 90km passage through the Northern Alps by cable car, ropeway, and electric bus. Highlights include dramatic mountain scenery, the impressive Kurobe Dam, and, in spring, towering snow walls reaching up to 20 metres high.
Suggested Accommodation: Kai Alps
-
Day 5-6
Your next two days unfold through a series of cultural encounters, through the rhythmic energy of taiko drumming, the quiet precision of a tea ceremony, or time spent learning directly from local artisans.
Visit UNESCO-listed Gokayama, famed for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, where you'll try washi paper making, enjoy a local soba lunch, and meet farmers from this remote mountain community. Surrounded by the Northern Alps and the Sea of Japan, Toyama is shaped by pure alpine waters and is celebrated for some of Japan's finest seafood, including exceptionally fresh sushi. This immersive experience offers a genuine connection to Japan's rural traditions, landscapes, and way of life.
Suggested Accommodation: Rakudo-An

Day 7-9
Continue by train to Kyoto, Japan's imperial capital for over a thousand years. Here, tradition and atmosphere take centre stage, offering a striking contrast to the Alps.
Highlights include a traditional wedding kimono photoshoot within a beautifully preserved townhouse, where you'll experience the elegance and rituals of historic Japan. You'll also explore the city on a private guided e-bike tour through Kyoto's backstreets, cycling through the Gion and Miyagawacho geisha districts, along the Shirakawa River, and into the Kyoto Imperial Palace Park, revealing a more intimate and local side of the city.
Suggested Accommodation: Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto

Day 10
Your final day brings you back to Tokyo for one last evening, time to revisit a favourite spot, enjoy an unforgettable meal, or simply soak up the energy of the city before your journey home.
