Where to start....... He was excellent in every way. He was a good, clear communicator, relaxed in all situations, approachable, well-organised and knowledgeable about Japanese history and culture. He encouraged us to try different foods and found good places to eat. We felt that we were in very safe hands.

Mark was helpful and told us what we needed to know. He could answer questions about things like the weather in October, and which airline to choose, from personal experience which was reassuring.

5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
Breakfasts were exceptional in every hotel. Beds were large and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the yukatas and onsens.

All of the transfers between trains was well organised and we were never rushed. We enjoyed the variety of transport and the ease with which we were able to use it, thanks to the guide who had researched each station. The pick ups at the beginning and end were faultless.

We were impressed by the number and variety of meals included and the quality and/or authenticity of them. We enjoyed them all thoroughly in different ways.
