What our customers have to say...
The most important thing we can do to improve our service is listen to what our customers have to say, which is why you can now read their comments unedited on our website.
Upon returning from Japan all our clients are sent a review form and this is where you can see what they are saying about their experience of Japan and of our service.

1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
The whole process was seamless. Everyone was wonderful to work with starting with Joseph who helped me get eveything booked, answered all my questions and was always very responsive. Joseph also reached out unsolicited to offer his condolences at a loss we suffered at the end of our trip. This gesture meant alot to me and my family. (I'll talk extensively about Hanan later as well, but wanted to give a shout out to the behind the scenes team first).

2. Tour Leader name and satisfaction rating
Six stars isn't enough. If every InsideJapan guide is expected to be like Hanan, you've set an impossibly high standard. I've traveled extensively and have taken many guided tours over the years, and I can honestly say Hanan is one of the finest tour leaders I've ever had. Our itinerary was already incredible—Tokyo, Nagano, Matsumoto, Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Kurashiki, and back to Tokyo—but Hanan transformed it from a sightseeing trip into an unforgettable experience. She somehow managed the impossible: she kept our group perfectly on schedule while never making us feel rushed. In fact, we saw more than what was promised because she knew exactly how to maximize every day. When there was an opportunity to spend a little more time somewhere special, she adjusted seamlessly without compromising the rest of the itinerary. What impressed me most was that she wasn't just leading a tour—she was curating an experience. Every region introduced us to something unique. She always had a local specialty for us to try, explained why it was significant to that area, and encouraged us to experience Japan through its food as much as through its history and culture. We never wasted time standing in restaurant lines because she was always several steps ahead, and every recommendation was outstanding. Her knowledge of Japan was exceptional, but equally impressive was her ability to read the group. She knew when people needed a break, when everyone was excited to keep exploring, and how to balance structure with flexibility. She made sure everyone felt included, answered every question with patience and enthusiasm, and somehow made logistics that must have been incredibly complex appear effortless. Traveling through Japan involves navigating trains, stations, hotels, public transportation, language differences, and cultural customs. At no point did I ever feel uncertain or unsafe. Hanan anticipated challenges before they became problems, communicated clearly, and handled every situation with complete professionalism and calm confidence. What also stood out was her kindness. She genuinely cared that every member of the group had the best possible experience. She celebrated the little moments with us, shared recommendations that weren't in the guidebook, and helped us appreciate not just the famous sights but also the small cultural details that make Japan so special. By the end of two weeks, Hanan hadn't simply guided us through Japan—she had helped us understand it. InsideJapan has built an outstanding itinerary, but exceptional itineraries still depend on exceptional people. Hanan is exactly that. She represents your company at the highest possible level, and if I book another InsideJapan tour in the future, I will absolutely look to see if she's leading it. She is an extraordinary ambassador for both Japan and InsideJapan, and I hope the company recognizes just how exceptional she is.

4. How would you rate your package in terms of value for money?
Excellent
-
5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
I was worried about the public baths but found that each accommodation had a way to bath alone. There were a lot of western hotels but they still maintained traditional breakfasts, etc., so you didn't feel lost in commercialism.

6. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
We were nervous landing on the other side of the world for the first time, but we were met right away by a driver with clear signage, no problems getting through the airport to our van and we were off. I already mentioned train travel earlier but to reiterate - our guide Hanan handled every.single.detail - it was absolutely astonishing how we got to everywhere we went without a single snag.

7. Please tell us your thoughts on the meals included during your tour.
We're not the best test case on this one... we had 1 GF and 1 Shellfish allergy in our group. I am also, in particular, a picky eater, but Hanan did a great job finding places to accommodate these allergies and made sure that we could always eat. Most places had hard boiled eggs or poached eggs, but some only had scrambled eggs which was more like egg soup which was difficult to handle, but the buffets always had variety.

10. Would you travel again with InsideJapan Tours?
Yes
My daughter absolutely loved Japan. It was a very active tour which is a little different from how I normally vacation, but it was very interesting and Hanan knows so much about Japan's history that we learned much more than I expected. It won't be an immediate trip back, but I can see us going when my daughter is a little older.
