11 night 'Scotland Scrums to Japan' small group tour June 2016
Japan's 2015 World Cup experience reads like a Guinness World Record book. At the start of the tournament, the Brave Blossoms were the only team in the RWC to have conceded more than 1,000 points. Nobody expected them to come out of nowhere to defeat South Africa, putting an end to the longest losing streak (24 years) in RWC history. The odds were 66-1. This was the first time in two decades that South Africa had lost an opener - and let's not forget that this is a team that has only ever been defeated by three adversaries: the All Blacks, the Wallabies, and England. Japan then went on to leave the tournament despite having only lost one of their pool stage matches - another first in World Cup history.
The point is this: Japan has got serious. With more rugby clubs than any other country in the world and the World Cup happening in 2019, this is an incredibly exciting time for rugby in Japan. And if you're a Scotland fan, you don't even need to wait three years to get a piece of the action.
In June 2016, Scotland will be heading out to the Land of the Rising Sun to renew their rivalry with Japan - and there's everything to play for! Not only did Scotland scupper Japan's World Cup hopes last year; in 2004 Japan handed Scotland their largest win ever - an eye-watering 100-8 defeat.
Scotland will be playing two test matches in Japan, one in Tokyo and one in Toyota. Why not seize the opportunity to experience and see both the matches and this amazing country before everyone else heads over in 2019.
