1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
We experienced top quality service from Inside Japan Tours from our initial questions about the various tours offered, from the responses by both Elisabeth and Kassandra, to the outstanding guide work provided by our tour leader Hanan, and through the in-country support we received while traveling independently for eleven days following the tour. The tour provided us an interesting and useful overview of Japanese culture, history, cuisine, methods of travel, types of accommodations, and exploration of various size cities. An important goal for booking this trip was to use the tour to learn the necessary things to travel well/confidently enough in Japan independently, following the tour's conclusion. The trip, under Hanan’s leadership, exceeded our expectations.

2. Tour Leader name and satisfaction rating
Our tour was led by Hanan, a truly outstanding guide. She placed high value on details both large and small, was consistently available to answer questions, is an excellent teacher with an excellent knowledge of the Japanese culture. She understands what travelers need to truly enjoy what Japan has to offer. Her commitment, personalization, and professionalism in her role exceeded all expectations. Hanan consistently provided options tailored to individual needs and interests. She suggested places catering to dietary needs, assisted participants with travel routes and schedules during free time, and taught us to use new technologies for a better experience. She regularly offered to lead additional experiences, beyond the tour’s itinerary, (temple visits at dawn, special gardens, a karaoke experience). She puts a lot of heart into being a guide.

The quick response times and follow through with getting our questions answered was excellent. Kassandra and Elisabeth both gave us confidence about the details of the trip, which were addressed with care. I especially appreciate Kassandra arranging a special surprise for my husband's birthday - with a bottle of sake we could share with the tour group, and a birthday cake for us in our room, to celebrate his birthday - complete with candles! It was very special and really speaks to the personal attention Kassandra and her support folks at IJT gave to us throughout the trip. This also includes the exceptionally well created tour extension booklet that outlined each day we had on our own, complete with the hotel accommodations, transportation arrangements, and local tour guide information. It was VERY well done and helpful. Thanks Kassandra!

5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
In particular, the accommodations we had on the part of the tour on our own on Kyushu were very nice and the locations were very helpful for us.

Enjoyed the variety of travel methods.

The food was generally good. The hotel breakfasts were generally very good.

One of our goals in booking a tour is to learn, through the experience itself, how to travel confidently in the country or area. This goal was met from our IJT. We may book another tour if traveling with friends or relatives or if IJT offers tours focusing on Northern Japan. We would most certainly consider having IJT help us with booking transportation and accommodations for a privately planned trip.
