1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
Overall great service from Tim and Van which met my expectations

2. Tour Leader name and satisfaction rating
Van is well-suited to his position and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the country. He was approachable and easygoing. I enjoyed him sharing personal conversations and his sense of humour. His demeanour was upbeat, friendly, confident, and genuine. It was great to have him order food for the group so everyone could enjoy. He was available to answer questions. My friends are vegetarian (which wasn’t always easy) and he had suggestions for them. I know they were impressed and happy with Van. He is a dedicated and organized leader who clearly enjoys his job and desires to contribute more to the company. IJT is fortunate to have him. In a larger group he needs to wait until everyone is a bit closer to hear/maybe speak louder. In busy/crowded places he has learned to create a meeting point in case people are separated. He was empathetic when travellers had issues even if it was nothing he could control (e.g. apparently some people didn’t like pillows, lol) As he gains more experience he will be outstanding.

5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
I enjoyed the “authentic” experience of a ryokan mixed in with other hotels. Locations were good except for Takayama.

All transportation was great, on time and clean.

There were some things I had not tried before so it was interesting - especially the ryokan in Nagano

This was my first trip to Japan and with enough time and money it would be great to see more. We saw a lot of different things and had many experiences.

I am glad you had such a such a good time
on your small group tour. It seemed like you guys had a fantastic time. I so
glad I was able to help you along the way.
We were all excited when Van made the transition
from working in the US office to being a tour leader in Japan. We know that he
has what it takes to be a fantastic tour leader. He is indeed knowledgeable and
enthusiastic. It also helps many people since he is vegetarian himself, he can
help those who are vegetarian. Since he is new the feedback you gave is very important
to his improvement as a tour leader. We apricate it!
Having more of these options such as a sumo
stable visit, teamLab, and the Robot Restaurant is a good idea. I hope it is something
that our Small Group Tour team can add has an option and they can add it in a
way that is not disruptive to the overall trip.
I am glad you got to have unique experiences
and got to eat unique foods. We pride ourselves on giving people authentic experiences
and varied experiences. I am glad you were able to have these while on the
trip.
