Our team at Inside Japan Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Broomfield, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan holidays and tours.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.

Originally from Tokyo, Yuki had travelled all over the world and lived in the UK for nine years before joining InsideJapan in 2013.
Yuki had quite a varied career before joining our team, having worked at a post office, an aquarium, a hotel, an import/export company and even as a security officer at Tokyo Disneyland. At the age of 15 she spent a year living in the Cotswolds, which fuelled her love of travel and led her to study in the UK three years later. Today she has been living in England for almost a decade and considers herself a real Bristolian, although she still misses her mum's cooking (especially tonjiro pork and miso soup, and niku udon noodles with meat), and her five cats - Cha-cha, Ku-ku, Ki-ki, Lu-lu and Po-po.
Having grown up in Tokyo, Yuki is a fantastic source of recommendations for things to do in the city. In fact, Tokyo is her favourite place in Japan. She suggests hiring a bike to look around the different districts (especially the backstreets of Asakusa, Yanaka and Sugamo), as you get to see so much and it's great fun. These districts are the best places to find quirky bars and meet interesting local characters. Sugamo in particular is well-known as the "Granny's Harajuku", and the local rice cakes are superb! (You can trust Yuki in this, as rice cakes are her favourite food).
In her spare time, Yuki loves wine tasting (luckily her husband is a sommelier), eating and travelling. Few people know that she is also an accomplished saxophonist!
Do you have any tips or advice for those planning to visit Japan?
"Everybody needs to experience that 'Lost in Translation' feeling at least once in their life. It will shock you and open your mind.
"My advice is this: don't forget to check magazines, websites and newspapers for events and recommendations before you travel. Timeout Guides are great for events, and the Independent newspaper (in the UK) has some good restaurant and bar recommendations for the cities. Also, if you have a soak in an onsen bath, have an Ebisu beer straight afterwards. It's amazing!"
