1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
The Hidden Japan tour was a well-curated experience that far exceeded our hopes and expectations. The assistance we received for our pre-tour trip was very helpful and customized to our needs. It was a perfect way to kick off our journey, and gave us the confidence to explore on our own.

Fergal was a perfect match for our family! We learned so much from him about Japanese history, culture, and food. He made everyone feel at ease, and he built a cohesive group that heightened the overall experience. We would love to have him as our tour guide again on a future trip!

5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
It was a good mix of hotels. We appreciated that the more moderate accommodations were used when we were in a location for only one night. And usually, the only way to tell it was a more moderate hotel was the size of the breakfast! The JR Clement in Takamatsu was amazing, as was the ryokan, Koubaitei, in Kotohira.

6. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
All of the transportation was comfortable with the exception of the small buses for Iya Valley and Naoshima as mentioned above (they would have been fine with slightly fewer people). The rest of the transportation was comfortable, and Fergal was always good at explaining how each would work and what we could do to be the most comfortable (bathrooms, snacks, etc).

7. Please tell us your thoughts on the meals included during your tour.
The food included on the tour was incredible and delicious! It also gave us a great introduction to the cultural practices surrounding food in Japan. The kaiseki meals at the ryokan were amazing, but also the wonderful lunch we had at the tiny cafe in Joge. We were surprised how much we enjoyed the shojin ryori at Koyasan. And of course the izakayas were fun, especially as the group got to know each other. Finally, Fergal gave great recommendations for lunches and dinners when we were on our own. We enjoyed everything from the cheapest ramen to the the very expensive Kobe beef!

Japan is a remarkable country, and we especially loved visiting places that were off the beaten track. The biggest hurdle is the language barrier, but also in finding these remarkable experiences. The Hidden Japan tour did just that, and it executed the vision so well. We are excited to see where else we can explore!
