1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
Support in the UK before travelling was good. Local support in Japan during the trip (via email) was very efficient.

2. Tour Leader name and satisfaction rating
Ed was friendly, knowledgeable, good humoured, and extremely helpful. He was instrumental in making the trip so enjoyable, well organised and memorable. Without a doubt, being a resident of Japan enabled Ed to help us truly appreciate the culture of Japanese people and the country. Throughout the trip Ed used WhatsApp to communicate with the group, share useful guides, maps, information and meeting points (via Google). This allowed us to remain as a group, whilst still having the freedom to be independent and “do our own thing”. This initiative greatly improved the travel experience.

Emma was very helpful answering all our questions before travelling. We wanted some additional bookings made for sightseeing in Tokyo (before the group tour commenced) and Emma helped make the arrangements, which we greatly appreciated.

5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
Most hotel rooms were very small, which made it difficult for two people with cases to fit comfortably into the rooms. All accommodation was clean and comfortable. Our room in the Iwatakan Inn in Takayama was rather shabby. One night at this accommodation, rather than two, would have been preferable.

6. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
All the trains were clean and comfortable. Travelling on the Shinkansen was a great experience. Coaches and buses, both private and public, were clean and comfortable. Bilingual signage made it relatively straightforward to travel on public transport without the group leader.

7. Please tell us your thoughts on the meals included during your tour.
Breakfasts in the hotels and inns ranged from good to excellent, although the selection and supply of food at breakfast in the MONday Asakusa hotel was variable and sometimes disappointing. We really enjoyed the okonomiyaki in Hiroshima. The evening meal in the Iwatakan Inn in Takayama was excellent.
