Takahashi wins skating title
Japan's Daisuke Takahashi has won the Four Continents Figure Skating Championship.

The world champion performed an almost perfect routine in both the short programme and the free skate, although he failed to complete a quad toeloop.

After the event Takahashi said: "I'm not satisfied with today's performance. I realize the performance was not good enough for the World Championships in Tokyo.

"Also, I felt tired at the end of the program, so it's not a perfect performance. But I'm pretty happy about the score and the placement."

Second place was also won by a Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu - the current world junior champion. He achieved a season's best of 151.58 in the final state of the competition. Third place was won by 2009 and 2010 US champion skater Jeremy Abbott.

The 2011 World Figure Skating Championships will be held from March 21th to March 27th at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.
