Japan's crown princess greets Spanish king
Crown Princess Masako of Japan participated in an official welcome ceremony for Spanish king Juan Carlos and queen Sofia yesterday (November 10th).

According to an AFP report, the event marks the first time in five years that the 44-year-old royal - who suffers from stressed induced illness - has joined in an official ceremony of this nature.

Held at the country's imperial palace, Princess Masako was joined by Crown Prince Naruhito, as well as Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.

The Spanish royal visit to Japan is set to last until November 14th and will include visits to Kyoto and other areas outside of Tokyo.

In addition, they are expected to attend a state banquet held by the emperor and empress in their honour this evening.

The World Next week reported that Prince Charles is set to begin a four-day trip to Japan on Monday to commemorate 150 years of diplomatic relations between the UK and Japan.
