4. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
Some places were pretty basic, ex. the Wright Style House, but that was due to what was available. The Conrad in Osaka, and Dogo Miyu in Matsuyama, were truly exceptional. In Takayam, the ryokan was beautiful and very accommodating but three kaiseki meals in a row...too much.

5. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
Trains! We finally felt like we were experts by the end of the trip. Tokyo at the beginning was panic-inducing, but we did get on the right train eventually! The system is awesome.

6. Please comment on any professional guiding included in your package?
We had four different guides. All were personable and well prepared. I was a little disapointed the first day in Tokyo that we did not go to the things we thought we were going to, but it worked out. The people in Takayama and Kyoto were terrific.

Yes
Considering that we had never been to Japan and did not speak the language, a service like Inside Japan was indispensible. If we went again we would go to only 2 or 3 places, and might not need guides, but the reservations train tickets still would be needed, plus it was great to be driven back and forth to the airport.
