One writer was left awestruck by the futuristic look of the Japanese city of
Tokyo, she has said.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Karen Kay said that on touching down in
Tokyo after flying from the UK, she felt like she had travelled in time.
"I was overcome with a sense of complete culture shock. This, I imagined, was how Alice must have felt when she arrived in Wonderland", she said.
Ms Kay went on to note that
Tokyo is a city that is nothing like any other place.
It is a cosmopolitan and modern destination, but still has many longstanding cultural traditions and rituals.
During her trip to
Tokyo, Ms Kay visited the shopping district of Shibuya, the "vast temple" of toys that is Kiddy Land and Akihabara, the electronics district.
There is much for tourists to see in
Tokyo, with the city hosting the International
Tokyo Toy Show last weekend (July 18th and 19th).
