Yakult 'could aid digestion' after festive excess
The well-known Japanese probiotic drink Yakult could be the ideal thing to help people get back into a healthy eating routine now that the festive period is over, it has been suggested.

First developed in 1935, the digestive aid has achieved recognition all over the world and is consumed by around 25 million people in 31 countries.

Dr Simon Gabe, a gastroenterologist at St Mark's Hospital, said that many people's digestive systems are affected by the stresses and excess of Christmas.

He commented: "After the indulgences that we subject ourselves to over the Christmas break, it is a good idea to get back into a regular routines once Christmas is over."

Research on Yakult continues at the Yakult Central Institute in Japan. The company also works with the medical and scientific sectors to help educate people about the benefits of friendly bacteria. ADNFCR-1445-ID-18977789-ADNFCR
