Students at Waseda University will be given a lecture by Hu Jintao on May 7th as part of Chinese President's state visit to Japan next week.
The trip will also include talks with Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and other political leaders as both countries attempt to improve bilateral relations in the lead up to the Beijing Olympics.
Tibet, North Korea and cooperation on preventing global warming will be major issues when the two heads of state meet.
President Jintao will meet the
emperor and empress twice on different dates for discussions and dinner at the Imperial Palace, Kyodo News reports.
He is also scheduled to visit
Matsuyama Ballet, a Chinese school in
Yokohama, and historic temples in
Nara. President Jintao's final journey before leaving the country on May 10th will be to the site of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. in
Osaka Prefecture
Mr Jintao was elected president of the People's Republic of China in 2003.
