Famous Japanese model Shiho Yano launched her first ever book this week, which she says she hopes will show that "beauty is what lies underneath".

The model told Tokyo Hive that the book, which goes into detail about everything from fashion to meditation, leaves nothing out.

"Everyone can dress up nicely to look beautiful, but real beauty is what lies underneath those clothes," she said.

"It is very important to take care of both, the beauty that is visible to the eye and the beauty that isn't."

Shiho recently married Japanese-South Korean mixed martial artist Yoshihiro Akiyama, who fights in the American Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has also won two gold medals at the Asian Games, one for South Korea in 2001 and one for Japan in 2002.

The model and the fighter are expecting their first child and Shiho is promoting her book while seven months pregnant.
