A new Hello Kitty laptop has been released in Japan, complete with almost 300 Swarovski crystals on its lid, it has been reported.
The Hello Kitty notebook PC is made by NEC and can only be bought in Japan, where the cartoon character enjoys huge popularity.
According to an Associated Press story on HappyNews.com, the laptop - called La Vie G Hello Kitty - is retailing online for 199,500 yen (£1,367).
The machine boasts Windows Vista, 1 GB of memory and a large hard drive, as well as a bright pink cover adorned with 299 crystals in the shape of Hello Kitty's face and four glittery hearts.
Hello Kitty merchandise is popular with collectors in Japan and a huge range of products featuring the cartoon cat can be bought - from
sushi bento boxes to toasters, expensive jewellery and suitcases.
The character is currently the official Japanese tourism ambassador and representative.
