7 Night Winter Price Cruncher

7 Nights: £720 (excluding international flights)

Destinations:
Tokyo | Hakuba | Tokyo

Japan has some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the world and this 7 night itinerary will take you into the fantastic resort of Hakuba which has a great range of pistes as well as a nice village atmosphere. Either side of your mountain stay have fun in the bright lights of Shinjuku.

Our 7 night Winter Price Cruncher includes a stay in Japan's exciting capital city as well as time on the slopes of world-beating Hakuba.

The trip begins with your arrival at Tokyo's Narita Airport from where you will use the included JR East Rail Pass to take the fast Narita Express train direct to Shinjuku station in Tokyo. Here you will be staying in a simple but clean and modern hotel in the heart of the neon lights. This is a great area to stay in and there is a vast choice of restaurants and bars to explore.

A direct train, again covered by the included Rail Pass, will take you from Shinjuku to the Alpen resort of Hakuba. Hakuba was home to the 1998 Winter Olympics and is a first class resort with some of the best ski / board terrain in all Japan. Our hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from slopes of Happo-one which boasts fantastic snowfalls, great powder and long runs. The resorts of Hakuba 47 and Goryu-toomi are also close at hand and can be accessed by free shuttle bus services. English speaking staff at the hotel will ensure you get the most out of your stay.

Although not included, lift passes, ski / board equipment and clothing hire, ski lessons and back country tours can all be arranged easily once you are at the resort. An all valley lift pass costs from around 4,300yen per day.

Whilst staying in Hakuba you may also wish to consider taking a day trip which can either be arranged in advance or once in resort. A great option is to visit the 'Snow Monkeys' in Yudanaka Onsen. The Japanese macaque is the most northernly found monkey in the world and in Yudanaka you can get to see them as they enjoy themselves in the outdoor hot spring baths.

After 5 days in the resort you will be taking the direct train back to Tokyo for a final night in the capital.

Extra nights in resort, in Tokyo or elsewhere in Japan can be added on if you wish - ask us for details!
