The best skiing deals for the coming season - Tom Chesshyre The Times, October 20th, 2012
	Tom Chesshyre rounds up the best ski destinations for 2012/13 and quite rightly includes Japan. Tom looks at the famous slopes of Niseko and the boutique Greenleaf hotel. Japan has hundreds of resorts with perfect powder snow making it one of the best resorts in the world.
James Bond on location: 007 holiday destinations - Abigail Flanagan The Guardian, October 19th, 2012
	Bond. James Bond. With the 50th anniversary of James Bond and the release of the new Skyfall film, Abigail Flanagan compiled Bond related itineraries. You Only Live Twice put Japan on the map and InsideJapan put together a package visiting the relevant Bond locations.
Land of the falling snow - A trip into yukiguni, Japan's wintry heart - Chris Granet The Mirror, October 13th, 2012
	Chris travelled out to Niigata which is covered in snow for the winter months and has some of Japan's best ski resorts. There are some fantastic tradtional ryokan in the area, the area is known for great rice and sake and it is an amazing rural cultural experience. A good read from Chris.

	The satirist/comedian/writer Charlie Brooker travelled to Kyoto in January 2012 and did a cooking class. Charlie visited one of our cooking classes at a home in Kyoto and seemed to enjoy it. He also stayed at the very nice Hoshinoya, Kyoto which is a beautiful experience in itself.

	Richard Green from the Sunday Times chose to feature our IJT Essential group tours in this article. As he rightly suggests the Tokaido Trail is great value and an fantastic introduction to the country.
Japan's tropics: The Yaeyama Islands - Liz Boulter The Guardian, July 8th, 2012
	The Yaeyama Islands are an hour's flight south of the main Okinawan island. Ishigaki island is the main gateway to these subtropical islands, white sand beaches, jungle and wildlife. Liz Boulter discovered it for herself and really rather enjoyed it by the sounds of it.

	Jimmy Im looks at some of the worlds upcoming gay destinations including Japan. Japan has not really been on the 'gay friendly' destination list for most, but attitudes are changing across the country with some hotels actively promoting LGBT friendly campaigns.

	This is a lovely account of Laura Goulden's travels through Japan. Laura wrote a splendid piece for the Sunday Times Travel magazine about her first trip to Japan. There are some lovely descriptions of places and some wonderful images too. Laura feel in love with the place which is always nice to hear.
Sumo: martial art ot fight in a pub doorway? - Charlie Brooker The Guardian, May 2nd, 2012
	Love him or hate him, Charlie Brooker certainly seems to get people talking about his work. This time he wrote about his first trip to the sumo in Tokyo. I think he actually liked it. This piece was slated by sumo purists...but I don't think it is to be taken too seriously.
The Diary: Caroline Daniel FT Weekend, April 28th, 2012
	The Editor of the FT Weekend was heading to Japan for a mini holiday followed by some big conferences. We sent her to the magnificent Hoshinoya in amongst the mountains of Karuizawa for a bit of pre-meeting R&R. She wrote a god personal account in her FT Weekend Diary.

	The FT's man in Tokyo revealed the Tokyo Sky Tree just before the official opening in May. InsideJapan Tours are one of the few operators who were able (and still are) to get tickets to visit the highest viewing platform in Tokyo.
Searching out sake in Japan's snow country - Paul Ogden Manchester Evening News, March 31st, 2012
	Paul travelled to Japan for the first time and headed deep into the mountains of Niigata. The winter months see deep snow and the area is renowned for some of honshu's best skiing. Perhaps the most famous product of Nigata though is its sake. This is a really good piece from a journalist discovering rural Japan.

	Robbie booked with InsideJapan Tours as a regualr customer visiting Japan for his 30th Birthday and he surprised us with this wonderful piece about the brilliant Sapporo Snow Festival. The festival is one of the highlights of the year in Hokkaido and you can tell how much Robbie enjoyed his trip from this one piece.

	The Guardian have added Tokyo to their city guide series and have put together some brilliant short films of Tokyo, cat cafes and snow monkey. The videos are a good little insight into life in the Metropolis and beyond.

	Guardian coloumnist, comedian and celebrity writes the first of his excellent articles based on his recent trip to Japan. As you would expect, Charlie makes some amusing observations on Japanese sub-culture and the techi-district of Akihabara. Charlie travelled with InsideJapan Tours.

	The Guardian online selected a number of events and attractive images and used the famousTakayama festival in its cultural events gude for 2012 - one of many amazing festivals in Japan.
Travel Challenge: Japan Independent, January 21st, 2012
	The Independent challenges a number of tour operators to come up with a trip for a particular date. The challenge is to come with something different. IJT came up with a package to include the lesser known Kitano Odori geisha dances in Kyoto which take place for a short period during spring....I like to think we won the challenge!

	A Guardian reader refers to her time in Nikko as part of her life-changing trip. The reader mentioned the stunning Toshogu shrine complex and lake Chuzenji up in the mountains nearby. The Nikko area is beautiful and one of the most beautiful places in the world when the autumn leaves are on full show.
