Mt. Fuji Climb
Overview
Mt. Fuji is the most famous symbol of Japan and a climb to the peak is both a physical and emotional test. You will need to be determined and of reasonable physical fitness. You will join a guided group climb with an overnight stay at a mountain lodge - the safest way to get up to the 3,776 metre peak. Our climb will be timed to reach the top in time for sunrise at around 4.30am. The group size is tailored to allow for an appropriate instruction ratio (usually around 3 to 7 people per guide). Among the four ascending routes on Mt. Fuji, you will take the Fujinomiya trail which is the shortest route.
This is a once in a life time experience and something that will live with you for many years.

When:
The season for climbing Mt. Fuji opens on 1st July and runs until the 31st August 31st. Our Fuji climb guided service is only available between these dates. However, for those who wish to climb independently, the mountain is still safe and accessible from early June through to the end of September. Climbing outside of this period is not to be recommended unless you are an experienced mountaineer.
Where:
Mt Fuji is located around 70 miles to the west of Tokyo, straddling the boundary between Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures. Before the full scale industrialisation at the end of the 19th century the mountain could nearly always be seen on clear days from Tokyo and Yokohama but now this view is often obscured by haze. However, when Mt Fuji can be seen the view is spectacular.
The mountain can be reached by direct bus from Shinjuku in Tokyo or from several access points close to the base of the mountain.
