Ishigaki Kabira Bay Club Med
Just around the corner from the stunning Kabira Bay and with its own private sandy beach, the Club Med Kabira Resort on sub-tropical Ishigaki Island is a fantastic getaway. Stays here include breakfast, lunch and dinner and all house drinks.
Set within luscious gardens, this collection of traditionally-styled, low-rise bungalows features modern guest rooms all with sea views. The resort has its own swimming pool and spa whilst for the more energetic, snorkelling, scuba diving, tennis, windsurfing and the flying trapeze are all available as optional extras.
The old villages of Taketomi Island and the wilderness of Iriomote Island are easy day trips from here, or alternatively, just relax with cocktails on the pristine white beach just footsteps from your room!
The best times to visit Ishigaki are in the early to mid-spring (early March through to the beginning of April) and in the autumn - late October is ideal. However, the winter months are also beautiful but the ocean may be a little too cold for swimming. The main times to avoid are peak Japanese holiday periods such as Golden week at the beginning of May, when prices almost double.
Where:
Ishigaki is part of the Okinawan Islands. A 3h20 flight from Tokyo, Ishigaki has a sub-tropical climate and warm weather all year round. It is actually a lot closer to Taiwan than to mainland Japan.
