Inside Circle: Tokyo Backstreet Walking Tour
Meet fellow InsideJapan Tours' travellers on a very special city tour. We'll show you why we love Tokyo just as much as we do.
Joining a group of no more than 10, you'll be led by one of our Insider staff, a long-term Tokyo resident who will introduce you to the nation's capital as only a local can. You'll see contrasts of this city first hand as we take in traditional neighbourhoods before exploring Tokyo's most buzzing and modern areas.
Along the way we'll visit some local, independent stores and cafes, and we may drop in on an artisan or two - after all, responsible travel and cultural interactions are the touchstones of any InsideJapan Tours experience. From the nostalgic streets of Yanaka to the refined elegance of Rikugien Garden to the modern chic of Omotesando and Shibuya, this is a day tour that'll take in both classic sites and some lesser-visited secret delights.
The city tour is from 10am to 4pm, and all entrance fees are included. You'll need to pay on the day for lunch - your Insider will point out lots of great lunch options when the tour breaks for 30 minutes, so take your pick! Transport today will be a mixture of public transport (train and underground) as well as on foot. So pack your walking shoes as you'll be pounding pavements and exploring the city like a local.
