  1. 1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?


    We had a great trip but there were some balls dropped by Inside Japan. I also feel like we paid more than the value of what we received. This was our 3rd private tour arranged in this fashion and the other 2 (Peru & Argentina) provided guides with better English skills, all hotels were the same 5 star class and for both we had seamless execute at every move.

    Shakira Johnson - A Little Disappointed

    Shakira missed having a conversation with us once we got the travel documents. I was busy at work and when I called her, she was leaving due to a snow storm. She did not make the time to review several key points that would have avoided some challenges. Her first error was booking our first day tour from 9-5 but she booked us in at Skylounge for dinner at 5:30. When I asked her how we would shower and change for a lovely meal if the tour guide dropped us at Skylounge she revised the tour to end at 3:00. We were not told that tickets to a performance we were to attend in Kyoto were to be sent to our hotel in Tokyo and to look out for them. Only once we emailed her and assured her that they didn't arrive did she have new tickets faxed to our hotel.

  4. 4. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?

    Did not meet my expectations

    We loved the Conrad in Tokyo but that was a hotel I suggested we stay at. The Hyatts were both good choices. Even though the Sheraton in Hiroshima was not a 5 star it was convenient and clean so I can understand but Gora Tensui was a very bad experience. I mentioned that I was ok to stay in a Ryokan so long as it was westernized with a full bed. Instead the hotel was 95 Asian, we were told to wear their robes, the breakfast was not something we could even entertain eating and most of the staff did not speak a word of English.

  5. 5. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.

    All of the transportation was fine.

  6. 6. Please comment on any professional guiding included in your package?

    Our first guide in Tokyo could barely speak English. She was older and got very tired very easily and insisted on spending her budget on cabs. Our tour guide in Hiroshima tried hard but she too had a poor command of the English language and she was very quiet so we were constantly bending in to try to hear and understand her. Our guide in Kyoto was excellent! Our street Food Tour guide was fantastic. But 2 out of 4 is not a great score!

    I don't need to pay a premium price for your service. I travel extensively and only use private tours in areas I am totally unfamiliar with and the culture is very foreign to me. Otherwise I plan amazing trips on my own and that is half of the fun!

It sounds like not being able to connect for your pre-trip call did lead to some snags. Although the Japan office was able to resolve some of your issues on the ground, I?m sorry to hear that the call didn?t happen, as it is a very important part of the travel experience. Additionally, your feedback on the accommodations and guides is extremely useful, as we are always trying to improve our services based on up-to-date client experiences.
