What our customers have to say...
The most important thing we can do to improve our service is listen to what our customers have to say, which is why you can now read their comments unedited on our website.
Upon returning from Japan all our clients are sent a review form and this is where you can see what they are saying about their experience of Japan and of our service.

Nigel (United Kingdom) - Tokaido Trail, Oct 2019
1. How would you describe your overall level of satisfaction with us as your tour operator?
This has truly been the holiday of a lifetime. The Tokaido Trail was part of a longer trip organised by Ali Muskett to include guided visits to 3 pottery areas. The itinerary that Ali organised for us was superb and the whole experience has met and then exceeded our expectations. We could not possibly have had such a rich and rewarding experience without the meticulous planning and attention to detail of Inside Japan
2. Tour Leader name and satisfaction rating
The tour leader, Takeshi, was outstanding in every way. Each day he arranged for us a varied and compelling schedule of things to see and do sometimes reorganising the itinerary at short notice better to suit eg weather conditions. He was very informative about the history of shrines and other details and was extremely calm and polite with the whole group significantly contributing to the coherence and bonhomie of the group. The meals that he organised for us in typically Japanese restaurants were particularly special. The guide that we had to show us the Geisha district of Kyoto was also excellent with in depth knowledge of her subject and a lovely manner in imparting it. The two guides that we had outside of the group tour were also outstandingly good. Hiromi Charles arranged in depth visits to the Tamba and Bizen pottery areas including meetings with a number of top tier potters in their workshops/galleries which would not have been accessible to us without her. Kenji Murakami acted as interpreter when we visited Tomoo Hamada in Mashiko as well as providing invaluable help throughout the day with making purchases and giving insights into Japan’s post war history and society
3. Consultant name and satisfaction rating:
Ali tailor-made our your with specific reference to our primary interests - ceramics and gardens as well as the group tour. She perfectly matched the itinerary, travel arrangements, accommodation and choice of guides with what we sought from the experience
4. How would you rate your package in terms of value for money?
5. How would you rate the accommodation against your expectations?
Please see comments above re ruyukan in Hakone
6. Please give us your comments on the transport included in your package.
Really excellent combination of bullet trains, local trains, buses, cable cars (and pirate ships!) superbly organised by Inside Japan via the JR pass and IC card
7. Please tell us your thoughts on the meals included during your tour.
They were more banquets than meals and we loved them
8. How do you rate the usefulness and standard of information in the Info-Pack?
9. Would you consider travelling to Japan again?
10. Would you travel again with InsideJapan Tours?
Although Japan is in many ways accessible to westerners, in remains impenetrable in some respects to all but those most knowledgable about it and Inside Japan bridges that knowledge gap
