On a recent trip back to Japan, she decided to check out one of the weirder offerings on Tokyo&#8217;s caf<span class=\"st\">\u00e9<\/span> circuit&#8230;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Take a healthy dollop of Alice in Wonderland, mix it with a scoop of Willy Wonka, and stir in a portion of Tokyo\u2019s fashion hub Harajuku. Sprinkle with wild imagination, and what do you get? There are four sections of the caf<span class=\"st\">\u00e9<\/span> which guests can sit in: Mushroom Disco, Milk Stand, Bar Experiment and Mel-Tea Room. All are as bonkers as each other, and all are decorated like something from J-Pop icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu\u2019s imagination. We were shown to our seats in the Milk Stand, which features massive heads of rabbits, sheep and unicorns and lots of baby bottles hanging from the ceiling. Masuda is also the founder of Harajuku\u2019s 6%DOKIDOKI shop and has collaborated with J-pop star and fashion icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, which explains why the restaurant looks like something from one of her music videos and the staff look like they would be her friends.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"kyary pamyu pamyu - Mondai Girl(\u304d\u3083\u308a\u30fc\u3071\u307f\u3085\u3071\u307f\u3085 - \u3082\u3093\u3060\u3044\u30ac\u30fc\u30eb) Official Music Video\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f712UmUYHyA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The menu is presented on a touchscreen device housed in an oversized plastic box. The food on offer isn\u2019t bad \u2013 it\u2019s edible and better than the food at a lot of theme caf<span class=\"st\">\u00e9<\/span>s, but nothing to write home about. There are soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, snack food like chips and battered shrimp, and a good selection of desserts. There are five characters: Baby, Dolly, Candy, Nasty and Crazy (they\u2019re like the Spice Girls, only way cooler!). These girls wander about the caf<span class=\"st\">\u00e9<\/span>, posing for selfies and chatting with the customers. They are dressed in super cool Harajuku fashion, with clothes to die for and wild hairstyles. It\u2019s perfect for fashion fans, families, friends, and fun, although probably not a place for serious foodies.
