Harry Sargant

Special subjects: Niigata, sport, dumplings

Harry first visited Japan in the mid-1990s when he went to stay with his older sister, an Assistant Language Teacher on the JET scheme. Won over by meals of delicious gyoza dumplings (followed by beer, followed by more delicious gyoza), it was not long before he returned in 2001 to spend three years teaching in Yamagata and Niigata Prefectures.

Today, Harry is Sales Manager in our Bristol office, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a more enthusiastic Japanophile anywhere.

Besides his interest in Japan, Harry is a committed sportsman and at various stages has been a keen player of football, rugby, water polo and squash - as well as having run the Tokyo marathon and worked as a trampoline coach!
