Our team at Inside Japan Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Boulder, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan tours and holidays.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.
Having lived in six different countries, moving to Japan was a walk in the park for Naomi. Or should we say a hike up the mountain...
With teaching experience on the side of a mountain in Barcelona under her belt, it was only a matter of time until Naomi was drawn to Japan's mountainous terrain. Despite knowing little else about the country when she moved there, it didn't take Naomi long to get in to the swing of things and she stayed for three years.
It's common knowledge that Japanese people are some of the politest people in the world, but Japanese bears? Naomi hiked all over the country, but it was when doing a solo three-day route in Yamagata Prefecture that she was confronted by a bear (not the teddy type). While her knees knocked in fright, the bear was unperturbed and didn't even steal her hiking snacks (apparently umeboshi onigiri is the tastiest too). She managed to make it back to the UK in one piece - talk about hospitality.
If it's hiking tips you're after, Naomi's your go-to girl, so we trust her when she says off the beaten track Aomori prefecture is the place for outdoorsy types. You heard it here first.
Now living in Bristol, Naomi's still partial to a hike, but also enjoys bouldering (a good indoors option for those chilly UK winters), swing dancing and yoga. Little chance of bears in any of those, which we imagine might be a little disappointing after her other adventures.
