Our team at Inside Japan Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Boulder, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan tours and holidays.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience of Japan.
Like many of us, it was the ‘otherness' of the country and culture that drew Daniel to Japan. When Studio Ghibli films weren't quelling his curiosity enough anymore, he jumped at the chance to teach in Chiba prefecture.
With a passion for travel, Daniel had lived in Berlin for a year prior to moving to Japan. You'd think that having lived in one of the world's most vegan friendly cities that Daniel might struggle in Japan as a vegetarian. Not so! Contrary to popular belief, he knows all the country's best vegetarian joints (pun unintended). Although, he does admit to being a fan of the much derided natto - stringy, sticky, smelly fermented soy beans. Yum.
While he was based just 45 minutes outside Tokyo, he took any chance he could to explore more of the country; snowboarding Japan's famous mountainous terrain; going to the Earth Celebration festival in Sadogashima; hiking the tangled fairy-tale forests on Yakushima Island; and learning to scuba dive in Okinawa (to name but a few).
Scuba diving might be off the cards, but there are some perks of moving back to Bristol. In his home town he's only a hop, skip and a kick from the Rovers ground (just don't tell the InsideJapan Bristol City contingent that he's a fan...)
